The Owner

Hello and welcome to Essentials By Mel! My Name is Melva Smith, and I am the CEO of this holistic wellness company. As a former Division I student-athlete, the three pillars of mind and body have been at the forefront of my life. In December of 2021, I earned my Master's Degree in Public Administration with a primary focus on Nonprofit Administration. The goal and ambition are to continue educating the public regarding the infinite number of benefits sea moss offers, thus bringing forth healing, health, and wellness within our communities. 

The Brand

Essentials By Mel was born on May 28, 2021. However, since October 2020, sea moss has played a major role in my overall health and everyday routine. As an athlete, I wish I knew about sea moss and its benefits during my college career. I would have incorporated sea moss within my recovery process and encouraged my family to embark on the same journey to aid with their underlying health conditions. Presently, I consume my sea moss gels daily, whether that is in a smoothie or by tablespoons right out of the jar! My passion for helping people and spreading knowledge of resources are the driving behind Essentials By Mel. The goal of Essentials by Mel is to aid in underlying conditions within communities, bring awareness to the abundance of benefits, and educate people with the knowledge I have received about sea moss.
